Competition/Big Cookie

  The MMPC quarterly photography competition is affectionately called the Big Cookie based on the traditional awards. Big Cookie Competitions are held during the MMPC meetings in March, June, September, and December. All MMPC members are encouraged to participate. At this time, the Big Cookie competition is limited to printed photographs no larger that 8X12 inches. The rules for the Big Cookie competition are available here.

Themes  

MMPC members are annually provided the opportunity to suggest themes for the Big Cookie competition . The theme of the next competition is announced at the end of the meeting when a Big Cookie competition is held. The following are some of the recent Big Cookie themes:

  • September, 2017 – Red, White, and Blue
  • June, 2017 – Churches
  • March, 2017 – Fences
  • December, 2016 – It’s Not Easy Being Green
  • September 2016 – Night (no flash)
  • June 2016 – Rust
  • March 2016 – Barns

People’s Choice

The MMPC membership in attendance at votes on a “Peoples Choice” award. 

Judge’s Choice

A panel of photographers lead by the MMPC founder serves as the judges for the Juried Competition. The criteria include photographic skill and adherence to the theme. The panel provides feedback and critiques on the submitted photographs.
